To me (a non-expert) the main goals of meditation are getting out of an egoistic perspective and emptying the mind of monkey chatter. As I see it, yoga adds a physical dimension to meditation, and practicing this physical meditation with another sentient being means being in the body and the senses rather than retreating inward from them.

One of my favorite books is Frederick Franck's THE ZEN OF SEEING. During rare times in my life when I have time away from daily obligations, drawing is my meditation practice. Like working with horses, it takes me out into the world. I go into the object I'm drawing, whether it's another person, a tree or whatever.

My dog gets me outdoors, but I can't say we are yoga partners. I would like to do agility work with her someday, and I think that would be more like horse dancing.

The word 'dancing' didn't put me off at all. Anything that says 'horse' gets my attention, and the combination of words was so beautiful I couldn't resist.

actually, it was the horses that drew me here and your writing that kept me.

i would personally love to see more of your horse-dance-yoga connections....my relationship with horses has always been a deeply spiritual one although i didn't realize it until they were out of my life and i was left with an enormous void....

Hi Paula

You have a minimal way to say things but the things said are not minimal.

You also have a poetic way of saying them ...

See what you said about your Buddha Statue ...

http://www.greenit.org.za/the-buddha.html

Could not resist framing it into a 'found poem' on your behalf ... we try to promote the idea of Harmony and the pic and the words said it all.

Regards

I totally love the concept of your blog. You make me want to change my blog to 'word dancing.' I think the title is intriguing and I love that you honor your 'real work.' I think that the market you are trying to reach will get the name and they will get the concept. I didn't know you had a daily letter. I will definitely sign up. Human beings have long had a romance with the horse and for me the intrigue lies in my dreams. When horses appear in my dreams they most often represent something I am very passionate about. We have a Morgan horse here on the property but I have not grown up around horses so I can't say I really know what to do with her besides feed her and talk to her.
