When I was in my 20’s, back in the 60’s, I used to think that once the “older” generation got out of the ball game, we’d see all sorts of real compassion and humane behavior take over in our country because, after all, those of us who would be coming into the real mainstream were so much more evolved in our way of thinking.

How naive was I! Now I’m in my 60’s and I’m still stricken by the enormous amount of non-conscious thinking of people when it comes to animals and our environment. Sometimes I wonder why we don’t get any breaks on the side of doing what’s right.
