Unfortunately, I don’t remember big chunks of my childhood. Scraped knees? I remember hiding and the urgency and importance to not let anyone know I had a scraped knee. I can remember being injured after a bike accident and hiding behind my bedroom door. Dashing off to my room after the eight grade dance heartbroken, but smiling as I came in the door. Nobody could know. Memories are spotty and the memories I hold are very significant to me. This is beautiful writing thanks so much for sharing this.
